Event Manager

The Event Manager is responsible of the coordination of all events on board and he/she is the point of contact for group leaders, wedding couples and commercial operators.

Responsibilities:

• Daily management of events programs, in compliance with Company procedures and any further instructions received from the Head Quarter Office
• Work with ship department heads to plan function details such as space requirement, stage usage, time schedules, F&B services etc. and assign Social Host-Hostess as necessary
• The Event Manager has to assign daily duties to the Cruise Consultant, and to coordinate the Social Hosts/esses for events related duties in cooperation with the Cruise Director.
• He/She is to be capable to solve any issue on the spot and promptly convey pending problems to the Hotel Director and/or to the Head Quarter, according to their nature. When the issue cannot be solved on the spot, he/she has to manage any event-related complains and incidents through the Fidelio Complaints Management System.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in the hospitality industry, specifically in event management for at least 1 year
• Experience of life on board a Cruise Company, for at least two contracts
• Above average skills in leadership, problem-handling and general customer service
• Ability to communicate fluently in written and oral English plus two (2) other languages
• Working knowledge of computers, Internet access and Fidelio Cruise operations
• Strong organizational, communication, negotiating, decision making and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to utilize customer service skills by exercising authority and discretion to satisfy Guests of all levels, nationality, gender and age, in a manner consistent with Company standards
