Position Summary

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. seeks a talented junior level advertising and marketing attorney to join its Legal department. As a member of the sales and marketing legal group, the attorney will work closely with the marketing departments and other business teams of three global cruise brands in support of their initiatives. This position will report to Senior Associate Counsel.

Career Snapshots

  • Provide legal support to marketing, corporate communications, sales, entertainment, onboard operations and other North America based business groups
  • Engage in direct communications with internal business clients and outside vendors
  • Structure, negotiate and draft agreements
  • Review consumer and trade facing advertising and marketing communications and draft disclosures
  • Conduct trademark clearances and maintain international trademark portfolio
  • Support special legal projects, such as the creation of legal guidelines, audits, specialized training and compliance initiatives
  • Keep current on regulatory, advertising and intellectual property issues.

Knowledge and Skills

  • 1-3 years experience directly related to commercial transactions OR advertising law, trademarks and/or intellectual property matters
  • JD from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communications skills
  • Ability to communicate legal advice to internal business clients in a clear and meaningful manner
  • Common sense and sound commercial and legal judgment.

Requirements

  • In-house counsel experience
  • Experience or education in advertising, consumer protection, technology or the travel industry
  • Ability to understand business goals and achieve them within a legal context.
