Position Summary

Career Snapshot: As Traveling Food & Beverage Director, you will be role responsible for the overall guidance of F&B Operations and talent development onboard the ships within their assigned capacity.  The travelling F&B Director is responsible for creating, proposing and supporting brand initiatives and leading shipboard Food and Beverage Directors/ Managers and their teams in an effort to achieve company division goals and key performance indicators.  Onboard, the position acts as a conduit between shore-side leadership and shipboard operations.  He/ She will provide the necessary shipboard support needed to hit quarterly targets and will share accountability for results. The Traveling F&B Director must develop and maintain ongoing relationships with the shipboard leadership team in order to successfully execute the new F&B vision.  In addition, you will have the opportunity to travel the world while working for a top global employer of choice.  More than 40,000 people have already selected Royal Caribbean International to be their employer and so should you!

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of internal performance reviews carried out by the onboard F&B Directors/ Managers
  • Act as a liaison between ships and shore management to provide efficient, effective communication
  • Maintain quality assurance through standards & procedures for trainings, guest and employee satisfaction surveys
  • Achieves financial and guest satisfaction targets for each ship assigned to them through close relations, mentoring, coaching and guidance of the onboard leadership team
  • Perform periodic spot checks and audit systems in place including but not limited to: food cost control, new energy, beverage & food variances, consumable and replaceable handling, etc
  • Communicating, assisting and monitoring onboard F&B Director / Managers effectiveness to manage the operations within all budgets, forecasts, and targets
  • Traveling F&B Directors will play a key role in all revitalizations assigned to ships within their group working with the F&B revite management team and leading their group working with the F&B revite management team and leading communication, training, and support to ship board management as needed to support the F&B revite team
  • Mentors, develops and provides on-the-job training to F&B leadership teams to strengthen their current performance and preparation for future advancement
  • Perform frequent walkthroughs of FOH and BOH as well as periodic restaurant visits to ensure high levels of operating standards are maintained

Qualifications

Hiring requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a professional or senior leadership role position within the hospitality industry, including dining services, restaurant operations, culinary or beverage operations where a quality standards program existed; was reviewed and enforced
  • Speaks and writes English and demonstrated a high level of interpretative skills for oral, written, schematic or diagrammed instructions
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • All Shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency life-saving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
