The Sr. Fleet Marketing & Revenue Manager is responsible for the direction, leadership and optimization of shipboard revenue & Next Cruise Sales operations and initiatives.  This position requires a strong ability to analyze revenue streams and related business programs, as well as a competitive attitude and a desire to win!

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding all KPIs that are directly influenced by this role including revenue and ratings for the fleet
  • Understands, supports and ensures the effective execution of the operations within our various revenue generating areas including casino, shore excursions, retail shops, photo, spa, onboard Next Cruise sales, art auction and port shopping for the fleet. Takes initiatives from the planning stage to operational during shipboard visits and tracks results. Develops strategies and/or tactics to roll out successful initiatives to other/all vessels where required to improve fleetwide results.
  • Strategically manages several competing but cooperative revenue streams and uses revenue flow analysis data to make decisions of priority
  • Uses Excel to compile accurate reports, understands daily revenue flow, makes projections and creates tactical action plans to address shortfalls
  • Works with revenue areas on shipboard visits to implement plans.  Tracks performance of plan and reports findings to management team.  Makes recommendations for implementing and/or adjusting plan for future utilization
  • Analyzes current marketing promotions and associated revenue to identify areas of opportunity and develop or adjust strategies and tactics to increase guest participation (penetration), drive repeat business (frequency) and maximize profitability through up selling (spend) within the revenue areas onboard. Ensure the onboard M&R report PFS strategies are reported correctly on the daily RFA and recommend changes in the reporting method is required
  • Communicates tactfully, effectively and confidently with guests, department/division heads and crewmembers both one on one and in larger group settings
  • When conducting a shipboard business visit meetings should be scheduled with the Hotel Director and Master of the vessel as standard along with any other relevant shipboard management according to the visit focus (i.e. Cruise Director, F&B Director)
  • Supports the Next Cruise department with approvals, training, processing bookings, AS400, releasing of family verandas and necessary corrections to bookings made on behalf of the Cruise Sales team
  • Ensures the entire shipboard team is aware of revenue targets and marketing strategies. During shipboard visits attendance is required at any revenue meeting held by the M&R and feedback should be issued afterwards about the content, quality and delivery of the meeting to ensure maximum impact
  • Actively works from an entrepreneurial perspective and displays a business ownership mentality identifying new revenue opportunities for the fleet
  • Collaborates directly with the Cruise Director, F&B Manager/Director and other members of the Hotel Management team to identify optimal scheduling opportunities for promotions and events if the onboard M&R needs the assistance
  • Acts as a liaison with various shoreside departments such as Fleet Operations Revenue, Product Development, Strategic Planning and Market Research and provides feedback regarding itineraries, deployment schedules and groups and charters as they relate to revenue and marketing
  • Proactively identifies talent and coaches and develops direct reports and high potential members of the Onboard Revenue team to strengthen their current performance and prepare for future advancement
  • Train and develop new hire M&R’s as per the approved Training Development Plan and plan touch base appointments after the visit to review performance. Communicate with the Hotel Director accordingly about the development and support required for the M&R
