We are looking for a professional Communications Purser for a 4**** European Cruise Line with international passengers on wonderful itineraries. The Candidate (m/f) should have already experience in this or similar position and also bring along excellent knowledge about printing and designing.

Organisational Position:

  • Reports on all matters to the Chief Purser.
  • Creates the artwork each day for the Today Programme and menus.
  • Runs the ‘print shop' on board to deliver high quality items at best cost.
  • The ship's custodian of the ‘Ships Brand' ensuring marketing collateral is produced to the right standard with effective, accurate, messaging.

Skills:

  • ESSENTIAL: Confident in the use of Adobe InDesign
  • USEFUL: Able to use Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • ESSENTIAL: Understanding of good design principals and ability to implement across a wide range of items.
  • USEFUL: qualification to support same.
  • ESSENTIAL: Good English language skills and the ability to proof and correct punctuation and grammar in other persons' work.

Performance of duties:

Output from role

  • Produce each day, the Today Programme using input from the different Hotel departments.
  • Produce menus each day for the F&B Manager using content provided by the Executive Chef.
  • Produce each cruise, regular collateral such as the Cinema Guide and Suite stationery.
  • Artwork and deliver other ad-hoc printed collateral as required by managers in the Hotel department and elsewhere on the ship.
  • Print items provided by the Folkestone Office or Fleet Commercial Manager as required by individual line managers.

Improve brand standard

  • Follow the guidelines for creation of the Today Programme, menus, and other regular collateral ensuring no change in design occurs.
  • Understand and follow the Shipping Brand Guidelines, applying them to all printed collateral created on board.
  • Share collateral and ideas for improving the brand awareness and standards aboard the Shipping fleet.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
