Laundry Steward

61 days leave per year & 2 rotation flights per year to Homeport.

• At least two season’s experience on cruise ship in similar role.
• Ability to organize and perform all laundry duties including the bed linens, towels, restaurant linen, crew uniforms and guest laundry.
• Experience in operating laundry equipment including: 2 Industrial ironer, 2 Vacuum ironing tables, 7 washers and 7 dryers of various sizes.
• Ability to identify and fix basic linen quality issues such as damp linen, stains, discoloration, re-wash, and the like.
• Understanding of fundamental wash processes: time, temperature, chemistry and mechanical action.
• Understand basic washroom chemistry: pH levels, use of detergent, bleach, sour, etc. and safety compliance experience for proper chemical storage.
• Basic understanding of textile care and specifications, cotton, polyester blends, thread counts, reading of labels, sizing and weight, etc.
• Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to be a team player.
• Have attention to details.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
• Ability to perform job function without supervision.
