Skills & Education:

We are looking for a motivated Commis de Cuisine (m/f) for a well-known 4* European River Cruise Line with international passengers and great itineraries worldwide.

You must have finished your apprenticeship and working experience in 4/5* hotels/restaurants is expected. Candidate (m/f) should have good food knowledge and knowledge of Public Health and Sanitation regulations and procedures. Candidate should be flexible, stress-resistant, well organized and motivated.

Your responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Assistance with preparation and cooking daily meals (including breakfast, lunch, Tea Time, dinner, etc.) for crew and guests in accordance with Executive Chef Manual and menu cycle
  • Handling all groceries, products and galley equipment with care
  • Inventory according to instructions
  • Separation and disposal of waste / garbage
  • Conduction of stock takes; inventory according to company procedures
  • Preparation of opening and closing ships at start and end of season
  • Assistance in other departments upon instruction from supervisors (if required)
  • Performance according to company standards and HACCP rules
  • Participation in loadings
  • Correct storage of stock; establishing of par levels
  • Active participation in onboard training programs

Fluent English is required – any additional language would be considered a plus.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
