A fantastic opportunity has arisen as we look to recruit an Assistant Medical Manager within our shore based Medical department at Carnival UK. You will facilitate quality, evidence-based healthcare and public health practices to internationally accredited standards in order to maintain the highest levels of health and safety for both our crew and passengers. You will be a significant part of the Crew Team with specific responsibilities for managing the health of all our seafarers, having the amazing opportunity of influence the well-being of thousands of workers worldwide.
Some of the main responsibilities you will be involved in are:
- Delivering appraisals for clinical staff in line with national requirements for both nurses and doctors
- Overseeing the clinical case management of crew repatriated on medical grounds
- Assessing crew fitness to return to work at sea
- Managing the crew health education programme
- Using your expertise as part of an out of hours provision for the business and ship's
We are looking for someone who...
- Holds a Nursing Qualification and current appropriate registration
- Has Managerial and Leadership experience
- Has outstanding organisational ability
- With proven flexibility and diplomacy
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and teaching skills
It would be great if you also had...
- A Specialist postgraduate qualification e.g. Travel Medicine Diploma
- Teaching Experience / Qualification
- Proven experience within maritime
This is a shore based role at our Southampton UK HQ.
