The Production Manager oversees all aspects of the Onboard Entertainment. Onboard Entertainment includes Production Shows, Featured Entertainers, Singers, Dancers, also may include assisting the Band Master with regards to Musicians and Bands, if required. “Event” describes any presentation including dance sets, Cabaret entertainment, Production Shows, Featured Artists, and Variety Shows. Events can take place anywhere on the ship. The entire ship is considered “the stage.” Oversees the theatrical as well as the Technical aspect of all onboard presentations, particularly the Production Shows, and is responsible
for maintaining the artistic standards and intentions of the Producer/s, Director/s, Designer/s, and Celebrity Cruises.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Directs, coaches, supports, supervises and evaluates (in conjunction with the Cruise Director) the job performance of the Audio-Visual (A-V) Manager.
  • Coordinates all uses of the main showroom and other entertainment lounges/areas ) in conjunction with the Cruise Director) to ensure consistent presentation of all meetings, activities and entertainment.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and monitoring all aspects of Onboard Entertainment as follows:
    • Ensures the on-time start and successful delivery of each event.
    • Monitors audio quality and volume. Works with the A-V Manager to remedy any problems.
    • Monitors lighting quality. Works with A-V Manager to remedy any problems.
    • Meets and greets Featured Entertainers at the gangway and takes care of all details to assure smooth embarkation and disembarkation process.
  • Responsible for the operation or the delegation of the Stage Automation system.
  • Keeps accurate and up-to-date documentation of all show particulars. This includes running orders, cue lists, etc. (includes light, sound, and scenery movement cues). Assembles and maintains the “Prompt Book”, keeping accurate records of playing text, cue sheets, stage plots and all stage-related documentation and correspondence.
  • Attends all performances, call show cues if necessary, checks sign-in sheet, checks stage, starts show, and gives notes as necessary.
