OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • To achieve the targeted crew victualing rates established with clients and ensure that victualing service provided meets/exceeds clientsâ expectations.
  • To provide administered vessels with the necessary catering materials and supportive services in order to achieve consistent levels of victualing service within the given budgetary guidelines and as per client agreements.
  • To assist clients swiftly and promptly with information or other supportive services that may be requested.
  • To assist team members and provide his/her staff with the necessary support and guidance in order to achieve the Company goals and objectives.
  • To assist the various departments swiftly and promptly with information or other supportive services that may be requested.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To plan as necessary the activities of the team under supervision and look after the victualing requirements of approximately 25 vessels.
  2. To prepare quotations and purchase orders and to facilitate the procurement of provisions and other stores as needed.
  3. To ensure prompt communication with the vessels under service.
  4. To monitor operating budgets and communicate any reporting issues or overconsumption to the respective vessels in cooperation with Administration department.
  5. To implement victualing operational standards, policies and procedures.
  6. To monitor quality of victualing services delivered onboard and ensure that these meet / exceed client and crew requirements.
  7. To communicate with clients in order to ensure smooth delivery of service.
  8. To communicate interoffice issues as required.
  9. To assist in the control of activities (as per company guidelines) in case of incidents or emergencies.
  10. Any other duties which catering management may require to be carried out.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

(Essential skills, qualifications and experience)

Must have:

  • University degree in Maritime Supply Chain Management or in Culinary Management is required.
  • Prior experience in a similar position is a must or experience in Food & Beverage on-board cruise or offshore vessels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff teams; share skills and knowledge with others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Sound understanding of finance and possess good analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Accounting systems.
  • The highest personal integrity standards, a positive outlook and be self-motivated to develop & succeed. A positive outlook and be a self-motivated team leader.
  • A very good command of the English language both written and oral.
