Safety Officer (F/m)

COLUMBIA Shipmanagement Ltd is looking to recruit a Safety Officer (f/m) for a reputable passenger ship owner.  If you are interested in COLUMBIA and believe you can contribute to our success and our client`s success, you should at least fulfil the following job requirements:

• Chief or 1st Officer license and all required STCW Certificates;
• Relevant work experience onboard a passenger ship;
• Very good command (verbal and written) of the English language;
• Computer Skills;
• Decision making, coaching and team building skills;

Primary duties and responsibilities:

The Safety Officer is responsible for the on board safety and accident prevention program according to related company`s standards and international regulations.  Co-ordinates passenger and crew safety drills with regards to lifeboat, life raft, emergency evacuation and fire-fighting squats and keeps all relevant records.  Investigates and reports all passenger and crew accidents on board.  In conjunction with the Engine department, oversees and inpects all fire-fighting and lifesaving equipment on board and monitors their maintenance.
