We are currently searching for Audio- Visual Operators - Sound to join our team.

The AVTS is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ships entertainment sound and audio systems. The AVTS is charged with programming and designing events as well as maintaining the original sound designs that Celebrity Cruises has purchased. The AVTS position is an extension of the AV team and is expected to assist the daily ship operations of the entertainment team. In addition to other requirements, potential candidates must have at least three years of experience in an audio-visual function in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, entertainment or recreational industry (shipboard experience preferred) along with other requirements.  

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

  • Required to maintain all entertainment audio equipment, show control, and play back equipment on board the vessel.
  • Required to maintain the integrity of the prescribed sound designs of the Celebrity Cruises produced events.
  • Required to implement an original or prescribed design, program and to operate audio for additional events and guest artists.
  • Responsible for daily operational checks on all audio equipment.
  • Is responsible to adhere to the company's policies and procedures on maintenance and use of all audio equipment.
  • Is responsible for maintaining brand quality in all aspects of audio design and operation.
  • Responsible for the smooth operation of all events in the theater and ship wide as prescribed by the Cruise Director, Production Manager, and AV Manager. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in an audio-visual function in the entertainment industry.
  • Minimum of one year as a sound technician in the entertainment industry.
  • Coursework in theater technical management at an accredited college or university or the international equivalent, or equivalent technical experience, preferred
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot and maintain basic audio visual and cutting edge theatrical audio equipment.
  • Basic computer software skills required.
  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests.
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa  (and other relevant visas) when applicable
  • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.
