Primary responsibilities

A sales associate at Starboard is a dynamic individual with a strong entrepreneurial spirit with one major goal: achieve and exceed the sales goals established by the company. A Sales Associate offers a welcoming greeting to customers, initiates conversations to determine customer needs, promotes specials, process sales efficiently, and present merchandise with enthusiasm to ensure customer satisfaction and increased sales. In addition, a Sales Associate is in charge of receiving and checking-in merchandise received, maintaining shop and windows displays, assisting with inventories, maintaining awareness of potential theft, and complying with all safety and regulations outlined by the company and/or cruise line partners.

Job skills and experience required

• 2 years of retail experience highly preferred
• Completion of secondary school required
• Entrepreneurial spirit and great communication skills required
• Ability to deal effectively with a diverse demanding customer base
• Approachable and professional personality a must!
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and e-mail.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (both orally and in writing)
• Ability to travel abroad for 6 months at a time
