As the Travel Services Director, will lead a team of travel professionals and analysts that strive to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction with the goal to control and lower travel and entertainment spending.  This leader will work closely with end users and suppliers to find win-win solution to any given challenge.

Career snapshot: 

  • Introduce self-booking tools to corporate area and evaluate prospects as a crew travel tool
  • Introduce an integrated T & E reporting and tracking tool for both shoreside and shipboard personnel. This will include audit reviews, summaries, norms, and compliance notices to departmental heads and travelers
  •  Introduce corporate credit card program to provide better cost comparisons and determine norms and opportunities for lower expenses. Also will capitalize on card rebates.
  • Create and implement processes and procedures to control and lower T&E spend
  • Direct the management of corporate and crew travel booking operations team
  • Direct the management of hotel and port travel services team
  • Direct relationships with air, hotel and transportation and other travel services suppliers.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate Travel and Entertainment policy and procedures and provide appropriate enforcement
  • Manage traveler security issues through tracking software, emergency plans, and insurance.
  • Respond with the highest level of quality customer service regarding travel related issues to end users.
  • Audit travel contracts for discrepancies.
  • Develop programs to manage share performance with preferred suppliers and maximize financial benefits
  • Support meeting planning integration
  • Support travel and entertainment reporting vs. budgets and report meeting details and costs.
  • Create and enforce comprehensive travel policy and incorporate into shipboard SQM.
  • Develop educational plan for travel policy and procedures.
  • Ensure high quality customer experience and report by using regular customer feedback survey and VIP travel services.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years travel industry experience required.

  • Previous experience in managing corporate travel policy and programs

  • Knowledge of GDS (Global Distribution Systems) and automation tools
  • Member of NBTA and other travel associations to enhance industry knowledge and attend travel/meeting industry functions as needed.
  • Strong financial understanding
  • Experience in analyzing proposals and managing contract compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, negotiating skills and protocol knowledge are necessary.
  • Works well with limited supervision.
  • Contract management and RFP (Request for Proposal).
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management internally and externally.
  • Ability to multitask and work within tight deadlines.
  • Project management skills.
  • Must possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Must be able to review critical data analysis and formulate appropriate action
