Position Summary:

To drive energy conservation and efficiency related projects across all Operational Brands and Global Marine Technical Services (GMTS).

Proactively research and identify opportunities to improve energy conservation and efficiency across all Operations and GMTS. This position works closely with both shipboard and shore side Marine and Hotel Operations departments with a strong focus on planning and implementation of such projects, performance monitoring and also to provide technical support as necessary.

Career Snapshot:

  • Analyze trends in the energy consumption, provide reports and presentations as required, identify opportunities for future improvements and evaluate financial upside.
  • Analyze Key Performance Indicators for Energy Conservation
  • Manage and oversee budgets for the Energy Conservation projects.
  • Manage Energy Conservation projects in close co-operation with the associated ship manager and quantify realized savings.
  • Motivate shore side and ship personnel to encourage teamwork and improvement.
  • Provide the needed support for the ships to maintain related energy saving systems (hardware & software). Maintain direct communication with the vessels, including frequent visits to assist in optimal and efficient operation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of up-to-date technical research and relevant projects, evaluate new technology for use onboard, and oversee the running of test programs on such equipment together with ships personnel.

Requirements:

  • Specific Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in Economics or Engineering preferred. Cruise ship experience and related experience about energy consumption monitoring preferred (including marine and power plant). Ability to manage the financial aspects of the assigned function, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost efficiencies. Advanced analytical and communication skills required.
