Position Summary:
Responsible for the development of strategies and tactics associated with destination and itinerary driven marketing products to create awareness, interest, adoption and retention for the brand in the global market place. Focuses on market segmentation, product strategy, positioning, sales enablement, product awareness and competitive positioning. Develops Marketing Plans for assigned products to address the types of customers, the needs of customers, how our product offerings meet their needs, how our products are communicated and what value the specific product holds for the consumer. Contributes to the achievement of revenue, yield and capacity goals by increasing overall product awareness, call volume and bookings. Responsible for finding new avenues of business and for providing the global organization with Marketing Briefs for each product. Serves as the key content provider for global communication related to destination or itinerary driven products.
Career Snapshot:
- Develops strategic product plans for assigned products. Integrates all Marketing channels into the strategic product planning process to achieve consistency, synergy and success for all products.
- Collaborates with Revenue Management, Sales & Global Planning to agree upon and incorporate the revenue plan into strategic product plans to include: sourcing information, yields, load factors, business mix and booking trends. Incorporates Global Sales & Marketing communication plans and calendars into the strategic plan.
- Develops and maximizes Public Relations initiatives or opportunities related to new products, new inventory and new destinations to help stimulate awareness and demand.
- Works with Revenue Management & Global Planning to develop performance templates to include key performance indicators which will be used to ensure we are on target and on strategy to determine if tactical measures are required.
- Uses analysis and consumer data to drive strategy and create presentations highlighting differentiating or key selling points for internal and external use. Reports on key strategies, tactics and results across
- Contributes content to Sales & Marketing Services and Consumer Outreach for the creation of robust selling tools to assist Sales Managers and Call Center Agents to focus their efforts and results on need products.
- Utilizes information from cruise and vacation chat sites, competitor websites, competitor marketing communications, internal marketing communications and consumer research to establish and maintain competitive advantage. Facilitates competitive analysis of cruise lines and land based destinations across the global landscape.
- Participates with Strategic Planning and Global Planning to develop deployment strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of 5 years marketing or product management experience.
- Knowledge of the sales process, sales organization, trade marketing, marketing channels, pricing and strategies.
- Understanding of research information and performance metrics in relation to consumer trends, behavior and preferences as well as trade needs and expectations for use in determining strategy.
- Knowledge of Marketing channels, market oriented strategic planning, market segments and target markets.
- Knowledge of revenue performance management and metrics and corporate revenue expectations.
- Understanding of strategic product marketing and management theories.
