Position Summary:
The Social Media Director is responsible for the execution of strategic social media and digital initiatives, including developing and managing viral marketing campaigns, creating and supervising high-profile channel accounts, curating user-generated content and integrating social media into the overall business strategy. The position requires a strong understanding of social media trends and their impact on the brand.
This role supervises the social media team and coordinates closely with eCommerce, Integrated Communications, Brand Innovations, Corporate Communications, One-to-One Marketing, agency partners and others to create and drive a social media strategy that supports the Brand mission of creating a category of one. The position ensures our social media and consumer-generated content is fully integrated with other marketing and operational efforts across the brand.
Career Snapshot:
- Create the social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the brand to ensure its effectiveness
- Ensure the adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company's products and services
- Own the roadmap for the social media throughout the vacation planning experience, driving social media integration wherever possible
- Act as the advocate of social media integration within the brand, influencing overall site and business strategies
- Recruit and oversee the Social Media Team, ensuring a superior quality of communication and project delivery is provided at all times
- Coordinate the planning of social media campaigns, ensuring customer acquisition and supporting key marketing initiatives
- Source and manage relationships with strategic partners, social media agencies and social monitoring platforms to support and develop operational and commercial opportunities
- Provide benchmarks and analyze data, to inform company-wide decision-making and commercial campaign targets are met
- Monitor and comment on trends in social media trends and application, acting as subject matter expert within the company
- Monitor the competition and be aware of market changes and developments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications
- 7 to 10 years of interactive marketing experience, with proven experience in Social Media.
- Experienced marketer with proven expertise at developing and implementing strategic plans
- Strong knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and monitoring tools
- Previous experience in the development and implementation of media planning within the advertising industry
- Strong familiarity with online marketing best practices.
