Position Summary:
This role has overall responsibility to ensure global consumer data maintenance, and data integrity are met through formulation and monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards relating to database utilization and to provide a high degree of coordination between users, technical, application, and corporate entities to ensure effective data management. This position will be responsible to lead the team which oversees all aspects of planning and executing the various work streams of use, quality, third party integration, and compliance oversight of global consumer data by the enterprise. The position will function as a catalyst for change and operational improvement through enhanced process and system capabilities, considering all enterprise-wide impacts when recommending solutions, and demonstrating strong business knowledge and understanding of the company's key operational processes as well as a solid understanding of the company's technical environments. The role is responsible and accountable for consumer data integration and implementation of data initiatives in the tri-brands Marketing Initiatives. Position will be a leader within RCL Data Governance Council and facilitate oversight of all requests for use of consumer data. This role will contribute to the success of overall tri-brand and individual brand marketing and campaign/sales and analytics capabilities.
Career Snapshot:
- Owns with IT the consumer data flow management and processes to ensure most accurate representation of the consumer within the Master Customer Database (MCD), and establishes SLAs and key KPIs for all program and project related initiatives and manage the respective timelines for both internal/external partners
- Owns development and leads implementation efforts of all business decision rules to improve consolidation, management, and use of all global consumer data collected from both internal/external sources, i.e., transactional (shipboard/shoreside), social media, third party appends, etc. Leads strategic discussion among the respective brand and IT teams on use of consumer data.
- Leads a team responsible for Data Adequacy/Accuracy/Availability for planning marketing campaigns, reports, analytics, etc. and develops rules, procedures and standards for the access and maintenance of shared consumer data resources for internal business partners
- Consults with internal/external parties on use of new and emerging data applications for business purposes and oversees business analysis, evaluation and integration in conjunction with IT of selected technologies for enterprise use
- Drive and coordinate all business requirements for use of global consumer data for all IT and non IT related projects and programs and develops business success metrics for all ongoing processes and projects
- Leads and facilitates all management and coordination of fixes, enhancements, and change management for respective business units, i.e. Marketing, Consumer Outreach, Guest Relations, Analytics, etc. related to the use and management of consumer data within applications.
- Liaison with the other departments around all the day to day technical/process interactions and facilitates the flow of information throughout the enterprise by attending and participating in regularly scheduled meetings on broader enterprise initiatives, e.g. Shipboard applications, Reservations, Online, etc.
- Managing multiple projects and timelines; working directly with customers as well as vendors
- Understanding the goals and objectives of the marketing team and aligning consumer data management and metrics plans to accomplish those.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree required, Masters Preferred in Marketing, Statistics, or Information Sciences
- Minimum 10-15 years leadership experience of a large consumer database application
- Minimum 8 years team leadership over database or marketing analytics team in a corporate environment
- Holds current certifications and has direct experience working with major database applications, e.g. Oracle, Siebel, SAS.
Preferred:
- Strong working knowledge of state-of-the-art database concepts/design deployment, recovery techniques, performance monitoring and tuning, structured query language, and relational database design techniques.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in managing global consumer data business rules with multiple applications
- Proven record of effective team and project management across multiple disciplines, e.g. marketing, IT, analytics, etc.
- Possesses strong communication and presentation skills to groups of all sizes and levels that is persuasive and clear while under pressure
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in internal/external business partnerships
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to develop actionable reports and metrics
- Project management experience over large scale consumer data application migrations/implementations
- Ability to be flexible as project demands may shift
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures and a commitment to excellence in customer service
