Position Summary:

Responsible for developing strategy for growing direct business within all markets outside of the US (ROW) and supporting these markets in their execution of this strategy as well as partnering with the North American branded Consumer Outreach teams for the success of our corporate direct goals. Partner with country marketing teams to develop lead generating ideas and best practices for growing direct business. Manage/Participate in all Direct IT projects.

Career Snapshot:

  • Responsible for developing direct strategy to grow direct share of business 3% in 2013 to 24% share by 2015 with individual strategies for different channels, web, incoming/outgoing calls, onboard sales and company owned travel agents.
  • Work with direct sales managers and marketing teams on best practices for developing strong leads and driving business to our direct channels.
  • Align all local strategies with brand strategies by developing full knowledge of key drivers in each market and consumer trends.
  • Communicate this global view to leverage opportunities between markets, i.e. periodic conference calls and market visits
  • Lead initiatives to drive improved and appropriate reporting to drive revenue
  • Manage and partner with IT to implement & enhance tools to drive sales and conversion: improve IDS adoption, CEM integration and the launch of Dynamic Packaging
  • Manage direct sales in IR Markets.
  • Evaluate and participate in establishment of a global service center.
  • Explore opportunities to grow pre-cruise revenue within each call center, highlighting Travel Insurance sales in office and IR markets.
  • Develop annual and strategic business plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum Ten years experience in sales and marketing.
  • Minimum Five years Call Center experience
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills including the ability to anticipate trends, situations or changing market conditions and take appropriate action on a timely basis
  • Ability to coach and develop a team of international professionals. Includes providing the appropriate level of direction, enabling others to succeed, and providing open and timely informal and formal feedback.
  • Initiative combined with creative and innovative entrepreneurial skills that allow the individual to identify and act on opportunities that will build the business.
  • Strong inter-functional leadership skills and ability to drive change.
  • Experience in Change Management
  • High level of understanding of leading edge industry initiatives and ability to lead a team in the implementation of those initiatives with customers.

Preferred:

  • Masters Degree in related field preferred; MBA preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation and listening skills, including the ability to adjust style to effectively interact with external customers as well as internal staff and executive management.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategy for unique business opportunities. A combination of the completion of a significant amount of experience in a travel-related selling is desirable.
