We are looking for a Wine Sommelier who will work onboard our ships. The contract duration will be 5 months for the first embarkation; if interested and with positive performance the candidate will join Company shifts and will have other opportunity to work and grow with Costa.
Job Purpose
-assist the Bar Manager in achieving company goals
-assure excellence in wine service production with emphasis on cost control
-emphasis on cost control
-good salesmanship
-provide consistently speedy, professional and courteous service
- demonstrate good salesmanship through staff motivation and training
-produce professionally typed documents as a form of on board and ship to shore communication
- assure that correct quantities of consumables and replaceable are in place for the day in wine & cheese bar before opening
- assurine that the wine bar are open on time and ready for business no later than 10 minutes before opening
- schedule of Bar Waiters according to opening hours and daily activities (functions)orientation and training of bar personnel
- ensure general cleanliness and orderliness in all bars and bar pantries
- maintaining all Beverage Files as well as preparing all documents to be sent to respective offices
- supervising and taking physical inventory in the wine cellar
Requirements
-Technical high school or University degree in technical studies
-One or two years in similar position of an F& B outlet or shipboard
- Ability to manage a team and to work in multi-cultural environment
-Excellent English plus preferably 2 other languages
-Availability for contracts of 5 months duration.
