Job Description:
Assisting Chief Doctor during medical treatments in the Infirmary for Guest and Crew. Doctors are allowed for treatments and medications.
- On call 24 hours a day for walk-in and hospital care
- Programming the operation plan for themselves and for the dependent medical staff, their submission to the Doctor and their subsequent implementation.
- Caring for the safekeeping of the medical department's materials and maintaining adequate stocks.
- Verifying pre sign on medical forms for all embarking crewmembers, notifying missing or expired exams to the Ship's Doctor for immediate actions to be taken.
- Preparing and processing all statistical data related to food-handler crewmembers on a monthly basis;
- Compiling and filling the registers and the forms and mailing all required documents to the relevant offices;
- Checking maintenance of emergency equipments and reporting required servicing of medical equipments to the Chief Engineer;
- Checking oxygen supply and efficient working of respiratory equipment;
- Supervising to the cleaning (twice a day), ventilation, lighting (including ultraviolet lighting for the night) and heating of the hospital premises;
- Arranging medical emergencies referrals to the specialist ashore;
- Preparing medical customs reports before port arrival;
- Preparing declaration of narcotic drugs inventory for Customs purposes;
- Safety disposal of expired drugs and biohazards chemicals in coordination with the Environmental Officer.

Contract terms: 4 months on / 2 months off
Cabin: contractually shared, but single cabin in hospital is granted on some ships of the fleet;
Meals: free in the crew messroom; only drinks and bottled water are on charge.

Seaman's book
2-year medical checkup
STCW courses (basic fire fighting, personal survival techniques, personal safety and social responsibility, first aid), PSCRB, Crowd management, Crisis management and human behaviour;
ACLS course and BLS course.
