Bar Waiters & Waitresses – Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line currently offers 3- and 4-night sailings aboard the Disney Wonder and 7-night sailings on the Disney Magic with destinations including the Eastern and Western Caribbean, the Bahamas and DCL’s private tropical island, Castaway Cay.

DCL is seeking enthusiastic and experienced BAR WAITERS & WAITRESSES to live a life less ordinary aboard one of our luxurious cruise ships. Interviews to be held in MONTREAL on SEPTEMBER 9TH and SEPTEMBER 10-11 in TORONTO.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES YOU TO LIVE & WORK ON A SHIP – 6 MONTHS ON / 2 MONTHS OFF

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional bar service in all guest areas including several bar locations onboard ship and on Castaway Cay by taking drink orders, engaging guests in a friendly and professional way and delivering drinks in a timely manner.
• Maintain USPH sanitation and cleanliness requirements of bar and pantry area (clear tables, wash glasses, and etc)
• Practice up-selling and suggestive selling techniques
• Request proof of identify to verify age of guest before serving alcoholic drinks to guest that appear to be under age and have the confidence to discontinue service to specific guests

Qualifications:

• Must have knowledge of international cocktail recipes and international alcohol brands
• Must have a positive, open-minded, outgoing, flexible, cooperative attitude in an ever-changing environment
• Must be able to lift a 30 pound tray of drinks
• Minimum 3 years experience in bar industry with high volume experience preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age and fluent in English.
• Must be willing to commit to at least a 6-month contract, 7-day, 70-hour work weeks with limited time off.
