As the Restaurant Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant in order to provide guests with an exceptional and memorable dining experience.
Career snapshot:
- Directs, coaches, supports, supervises and evaluates the performance of all direct reports in conjunction with the Food & Beverage Manager
- Communicates daily with the Food & Beverage Manager, the Executive Chef to ensure the restaurant and galley work in perfect harmony to achieve a high level of guest satisfaction in addition to immediately addressing and correcting any guest concerns
- Designates specific responsibilities to the Assistant Mau00eetre d's and Head Waiters who are in charge of the various sections of the Restaurant, as well as the Specialty Restaurant Manager
- Responsible for cost containment through the proper use, handling, and maintenance of records, reports, supplies, and equipment
- Maintains full knowledge of food operation, including menus knowledge and cooking methods applied, menu cycles, and service standards
- Possesses a sound knowledge of wines and wine service in order to monitor the Wine Sommelier's performance
- Creates team spirit by being a leader and a motivator, and leading by example
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years hospitality management experience (shipboard experience preferred), or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Exceptional management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment
- Strong communication, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills
- Superior customer service, teambuilding and conflict resolution skills
- Solid planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills
- Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing personalized services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques
- All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable
- Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training
Preferences:
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred
- Experience training restaurant personnel, especially new hires, giving them the necessary guidance to successfully integrate into the team
