Position Summary:

This position provides support for all Air/Sea IT systems.  Extensive problem solving and understanding of various components and systems are critical to this role.  A highly experienced, self managing employee will handle a multitude of complex IT systems often under time constraints to ensure no lapses in service.

Career Snapshot:

  • Provides first level support to over 100 team members on a variety of internal and 3rd party systems
  • Maintains back office airline accounting system including support and upgrades
  • Coordinates work projects such as converting to new hardware or software
  • Recommends work priorities and evaluates costs, efficiencies and time requirements
  • Tests completed projects or computer programs to ensure that goals are met and those programs are compatible with other programs already in use
  • Manages and maintains tables and databases for on-line booking tools for guests and employee travel
  • Proposes new processes, products and systems to maximize efficiencies and reduce cost

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or five years related experience and/or training
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in airline Global Distribution System, back office airline accounting systems and Colonial/AS400 reservations systems
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining airline Global Distribution System scripts Extensive knowledge of user system testing procedures
  • Ability to engender a positive, high-energy, work environment focused on results and team success
  • Extensive knowledge of Amadeus and Sabre Global Distribution System systems and formats
  • Proficient in programming and scripting
  • Ability to communicate professionally in a multicultural environment with guests, travel partners, vendors and internal customers
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Strong ability to multi-task while maintaining and servicing complex systems applications and programs.
