Position Summary:

As the Senior Software Engineer  you are responsible for leading the design, development, operation, and maintenance of Information Technology computer systems and software applications. You will use your technical knowledge to define strategic direction within the specific discipline and to solve complex business problems, by means of a systematic and disciplined approach, as well as employ software, hardware, and/or communication technologies to accomplish assignments.

• Leads the design, development and implementation of computer systems and software applications
• Plans, designs, and implements complex functional and technical application and system level designs
• Defines interdependency with other disciplines and is involved in the testing and certification processes
• Leads, directs and provides technical guidance to team
• Supports, operates and maintains computer systems and software applications
• Interprets, refines and applies methods and procedures in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Information Technology industry standards and best practices as defined by Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd 
• Remains current with industry trends in order to conceive, prototype and recommend technical approaches for IT systems and solutions that meet business needs
• Able to travel, as necessary, to perform required job duties

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree
• Subject matter expertise in computer science, engineering or related discipline
• 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
• Demonstrates strong knowledge and capabilities within specific area of responsibility
  • Tibco ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks, Business Process Management, EMS
  • IBM Websphere Process Server versions 6 and 7
  • IBM Websphere Enterprise Service Bus versions 6 and 7
  • IBM Websphere Integration Developer (IDE)
  • Web services, WSDL, Apache AXIS
  • XML, XSLT
  • TSQL, PLSQL
  • IBM JCA and WBI adapters
  • Websphere MQ 5 and JMS
  • Java / J2EE
  • Relational databases
• Able to formulate, communicate and implement technical solutions
• Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• May lead or direct the work of others
• Demonstrate a degree of creativity with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong with methodologies, tools, best practices and processes within specific area of responsibility
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
