As Manager Shipboard HR Services Scheduling, you will be responsible for the development and management of both, Hotel and Marine, scheduling functions for Royal, Azamara, Celebrity, and TUI Marine including all hotel management, specialty and galley positions as well as all Marine officers. In addition, you will develop, implement and coordinate policies and programs to ensure and maintain par levels fleet-wide.

The Manager is focused on continuous improvement in order to improve the supply chain logistics (quality and cost) of the company's human capital. You will  also work in conjunction with HR regarding employee relations, wage and salary administration, as well as company's Safety and Quality Management System (SQM) and the operations leadership team within each brand.

Career Snapshot:

  • Strategic development of planning, recruiting, scheduling and logistics optimization to meet the needs of the fleet, by ensuring that processes and procedures for scheduling and new hire placements are continuously followed. This will include quality and consistency in the application of standards and service levels being met.
  • Manages the effective communication and collaboration between shipboard teams, Hotel and Marine Operations, and other areas of HR, i.e., recruitment, compensation, and employee relations.
  • Works closely with functional areas to clearly understand current and future sourcing needs and plan accordingly. This includes GAP pool, pipeline and Hiring Partners.
  • Develop systems and processes to advise Ops Management, on a proactive basis, for both improvements and to assist in mitigating risks.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with the ships' management teams and shoreside counterparts across all brands and looks strategically for best practice opportunities to strengthen the systems and human capital.
  • Ensures the team effectively executes all related policies and procedures and that all HR needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Seeks continuous improvement of scheduling processes and procedures towards maximizing efficiencies and effectiveness of the team in accordance with established processes and operating systems.
  • Mentors, develops and provides on the job training to team members to strengthen their current performance and future succession development. Provides continuous development and effective training of all team members for the full execution of their responsibilities
  • Liaise with other functional departments or groups to proactively plan for heavy travel season, restrictions, limited travel periods, dry docks, new builds and special projects
  • Identify and implement methods to optimize the effectiveness of the scheduling and logistic processes to drive change when deemed necessary, with special emphasis on mitigating CAM costs.
  • Develop, update and implement related policies and procedures and best practice recommendations as deemed necessary within the Scheduling function as well as working cross functionally within the SHRS&S team.
  • Develops monitors and tracks results thru Key Performance Indicators and other key levers to ensure Scheduler engagement, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintains and tracks financial goals and always looking for CAM reduction and financial opportunities.
  • Initiate action plans to prevent the reoccurrence of any non-conformities related to the Marine Officers scheduling and look for process enhancements to continuously improve the movement of all officerGreat vacations begin with great employees!

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Logistics, Industrial Relations or other related discipline or directly related experience
  • Minimum of seven years of experience either in the cruise, hospitality industry or supply chain industry
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience managing a large team

Preferences:

  • Additional language skills, in addition to English
  • Experience working with large systems, both in diagnosing and then executing fixes/improvements to enhance the logistics of our human capital management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to lead in a complex and shifting environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills to build cross functional relationships both inside the SHRS&S dept. and outside with operations leaders.
