As the 3rd Officer, you will work side by side primarily with the Officer in Charge of the Navigational Watch (OICNW). You will play an important role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of the vessel.

Career snapshot:

• Serves as an assistant to the Safety Officer, Chief Officer Navigation, and Chief Officer Deck
• Responsible for performing assignments related to the safe navigation and operation of the vessel
• Partners with the Chief Officers (Safety, Navigation, and Deck) in checking, testing and making minor repairs/maintenance to safety and lifesaving gear/equipment, correcting charts and publications, assisting with passage planning and oversight of deck maintenance
• Assists in the safe mooring/anchoring of the vessel

Requirements:

• Graduate of Maritime Academy
• Holds unlimited Officer of Watch Certification of Competency in accordance with the STCW Regulation (II/1) convention issued by a country that has ratified the convention
• Holds an ECDIS certificate
• Ability to resolve problems and to work without supervision
• Collaborates well and works up, down and across the organization
• Solid professional ethics
• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests
• All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable
• Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training Preferences\:
• Sailed 6 months as a licensed officer
