As our Assistant Galley Operations Manager, you will be a part of our exciting, highvolume shipboard operation team. The Assistant Galley Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that the support elements of the galley operation (ware washing, chemicals, equipment, repair/maintenance, PPE, supplies, etc) are operating and in full compliance with the company’s standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the infrastructure and support system for a successful culinary operation and superb guest experience.

  • Ensures all assigned areas are clean and visually appealing at all times as per compliance with USPH. Coordinates public health related functions to ensure adherence with the highest operational standards as stated in SQM, SOPs, etc
  • Assumes responsibility and accepts ownership for achieving results in all areas of accountability including guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, revenue, expenses, workplace safety, and other key results areas
  • Inspires the team through encouragement, training and recognition of outstanding performance
  • Organizes and delivers public health and cleaning procedures training to shipboard staff ensuring awareness of procedures and protocols
  • Conducts periodic and random public health inspections, provides guidance and support for all public health related issues. assisting in the timely follow up and implementation of corrective action

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required
  • Three to five years progressive food and beverage related experience or training, preferably in an upscale hotel, cruise ship, restaurant or high volume food service facility
  • Two years of solid stewarding supervisory experience, preferably in a high volume, upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, restaurant or high volume food service facility
  • Exhibits professional leadership presence and positive energy and passion in all situations
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable
  • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training

Preferences:

  • Cruise ship experience
  • Experience working with world-wide sanitation regulatory agencies (USPH-VSP, ShipSan, ANVISA, etc)
  • Ability to speak, read and write multiple languages is a plus.
