Position Summary:

 

As the Royal Caribbean Digital Business and Systems Functional Analyst you will be responsible for guiding the user experience development team by formulating and formalizing business requirements to build digital products and enhancements that help our customers research, purchase, plan, and manage the vacation of a lifetime.  The Digital Analyst is an integral member of the digital marketing department that actively is building and designing the next generation of the Royal Caribbean website, Cruise Vacation Planning Portals, promotional landing pages, mobile websites, and apps with the goal of driving engagement, loyalty, and ultimately sales conversion. Your work will be experienced by well over 50MM visitors a year and is essential in helping our consumers experience the ultimate vacation on the u201cbest overall cruise lineu201d as voted by Travel Weekly for the last 11 years. The ideal candidate will deliver on our mission to deliver the brand as a service to drive customer lifetime value by creating an engaging online shopping experience unrivaled in the cruise vacation industry.

 

On a daily basis the Business Analyst's main responsibility is to work with our digital product owner's within the Digital Marketing department and our business partners to understand business models in order to help develop and document requirements for new and enhanced functionality on a wide array of websites and consumer-facing applications. You will work with multiple groups to solve complex user problems with multi-disciplinary teams to conceive and craft useful digital products and services which range from planning a cruise vacation by booking a cruise, flight, hotel, and restaurant reservations; to simplifying the vacation experience via online check-in systems, loyalty programs, and on-board applications. You will ensure the guest experience delivers on the strategic vision and is achievable within the technical constraints of the project and our core systems.

 

The ideal candidate will have deep experience using facilitation techniques with a collaborate approach to extract requirements from business and operational staff and then work with the digital marketing team to translate those requirements into consumer journeys and ultimately a digital product. You must understand all phases of a software development lifecycle and know how to u201cconnect the dotsu201d to ensure business requirements are captured and implemented throughout each project development sprint including quality assurance testing, not only to deliver a digital solution on-time and quality but ensure the solution is fully utilized and understood during operations.

 

Career Snapshot:

  • Gather, document, and maintain business requirements for digital products

  • Create and maintain a library of business requirements documentation

  • Complete structured analysis using business models, process models, data models, and workflow models to identify and optimize digital product solutions

  • Facilitate one-on-one interviews and group interviews to develop requirements consensus

  • Guide the business and operations teams through Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing

  • Review user experience deliverables from consumer journeys, wireframes, site maps and user flows to functional specifications to identify constraints and overcome them

  • Communicate between digital marketing, business operations, and Enterprise IT department to ensure clarity and consistency of requirements throughout the project lifecycle

  • Business Process Re-Engineering (BPR) in coordination with Enterprise IT groups to enable modern digital solutions to function via websites and mobile apps


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or 3 - 5 years of experience in the role of systems and/or business analyst

  • Experience with facilitation workshops such as Brainstorming sessions, JAD sessions, and/or conducting structured walkthroughs

  • Experience in use-case diagraming, ERD diagraming, functional decomposition and data flow

  • Experience using test plans to ensure that all business requirements and their integrity are maintained through to QA and user acceptance testing
