By 2016, the AIDA fleet, one of the most modern cruise ship fleets in the world, will grow to include twelve vessels, and with it come varied career opportunities for qualified specialists and management personnel at sea and on land.

The project will continue until the end of April 2016, depending on the specific area of expertise. However we are also looking for applicants who want to assist for shorter periods. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with the construction of a new cruise ship with innovative new designs and technology.

For our newbuilding project in Japan we are currently looking for:

Newbuild Surveyors (m/f) in Nagasaki/Japan

Your target course:

  • You will be responsible for the supervision of the construction to ensure the vessel is built in accordance to the contract, applicable rules and regulations and meets the company’s expectations with regards to functionality, passenger comfort and corporate safety requirements
  • You will supervise the construction of accommodation and catering areas
  • You will manage multiple tasks and ensure the interests of AIDA in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors

Your previous course:

  • You hold a university degree in one of the following areas: marine engineering, electrical engineering, HVAC & Refrigeration engineering or safety & nautical engineering,
  • You have 3-5 years of professional experience in shipping, shipbuilding or offshore construction industries
  • Good understanding of classification rules and regulations including Solas and IMO are required
  • Furthermore, a good knowledge of “Safe Return to Port” would be an advantage
  • You are self-motivated and result oriented
  • Moreover, you are a strong team player with the ability to be proactive, work well with different cultures and nationalities, meet deadlines and set and adjust priorities
