JOB TITLE

SHOP MANAGER

MISSION

The Sales Manager will provide leadership for the onboard retail shops to promote and model our high quality retailing standards, continuously driving maximum sales results, superior quality customer service, talent development, and engagement. The Sales Manager must demonstrate honesty and integrity in all interactions.

RESPONSABILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Create, implement and execute plans and strategies to achieve sales and profit objectives;
  • Motivate and coach sales team to achieve/exceed sales and promotional targets by promoting high quality selling standards;
  • Verify that the sales team is informed of product knowledge, selling and customer service techniques;
  • Partner with the Visual team on merchandise placement, display maintenance, or to improve the visual direction;
  • Monitor passengers’ trends and requests to update the company’s offer to the clientele’s demand;
  • Collaborate with Corporate Office to develop merchandising and promotional strategies appropriate for the itinerary;
  • Ensure the top shape of customer service;
  • Assign to employees the daily duties requirements of the shop;
  • Verify that the workload is planned, prioritized, and effectively delegated. Create adequate time for follow-up to ensure proper execution of directives;
  • Lead effective daily store kickoff and closing meetings;
  • Maintain high employee engagement through mutual respect, guidance, positive reinforcement, motivation, and recognition;
  • Authorize all merchandise received onboard according to Receiving policy and procedures;
  • Maintain and control inventory according to Receiving policy and procedures;
  • Ensure constant control over the stock through adherence to established protocols and develop Additional loss-prevention protocols where needed;
  • Validate the end of voyage reporting and financial data is accurate;
  • Maintain proper performance documentation including detailed performance reviews, action plans, and corrective action.

EDUCATION

  • High School graduate.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as Shop Manager, either ashore or on board (3+ Years of Retail Management experience highly preferred.);
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively liaise with cruise line officers and Corporate Office representatives;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees;
  • Ability to restructure plans and effectively respond to changing business needs as necessary;
  • Ability to accomplish goals in a team atmosphere;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to learn and transfer solid product knowledge;
  • Strong PC Skills using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Proficient speaking, reading, and writing skills in English;
  • Alternate language skills as required for certain ship assignments.
