JOB DESCRIPTION

He/She supports the 1st Maitre d’Hotel to oversee continued adherence to and implementation of existing policies and procedures, in addition continually provide positive guidance as well as hands-on leadership while delivering excellent guest experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma from established Hotel School
  • Completed relevant apprenticeship at hotel or shipboard operation.
  • A minimum of one year in a management or senior supervisory position in a medium size restaurant operation (80-100 seats) or Ship Experience.
  • Direct experience of tablecloth service and “fine dining”.
  • 2/3 Years of experience in managing teams of at least 30 members.
  • Service Oriented, Personable, Outgoing, Flexible Mindset, Team oriented, Detail sensitive.
  • Self confident in public speaking and able to held public speeches during seminars and conferences
  • Computer literate – including POS systems, USPH and HACCP regulation and processes, Language skills as per specifications, Basic knowledge of communication tools for the purpose of training.
  • Wine Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Sales Techniques
  • STCW certification (EFA – FFT – PSSR – SUR) –must be completed before embarkation.
  • Medical Exam and doctor’s health certificate must be issued before embarkation. HACCP certified.
  • Preferable European Nationality
  • Knowledge of EngliSH (B2 level) plus German and/or French (B1 Level)

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.
