Position Summary:
This position manages all shoreside compensation programs for US and International Corporate employees. He or she manages job analysis including: descriptions, evaluation, grading, and pricing to determine job worth and convert to monetary value to be administered in accordance with pay-scale guidelines and policy. this Senior Manager maintains an ongoing effort to determine and maintain internal and external equity with current compensation trends, legislative requirements and programs, and also recommends new or improved compensation plans.
The role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of employee and job data within the HR system.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the design, planning and administration of US and International shoreside compensation programs including salary administration, wage and salary management, job evaluation, annual and long-term cash incentives, sales compensation, area differentials, equity incentives, and supplemental pay programs.
- Ensures compliance with legal requirements of compensation programs in US and all RCL International offices; prepares and files required US legal reports and provides guidelines and framework to International offices to be complaint with local legislations
- Manages the HRIS compensation module to ensure data integrity.
- Manages participation and purchase of wage and compensation surveys and recommends changes to ensure the maintenance of the organization's compensation objectives and competitive position in the marketplace.
- Analyzes compensation programs and makes appropriate recommendations for shoreside employees including base pay, incentive, bonus and related pay programs.
- Selects, negotiates and manages compensation consultants, vendor and necessary legal assistance.
- Participates in and/or coordinates the design and administration of Total Rewards Statements.
- Manages a staff of compensation support employees.
- Oversees compensation plan evaluation, market pricing or re-alignment for areas to be restructured.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or the international equivalent. Master Degree desirable.
- 5 to 10 years experience in HR with a concentration in Compensation.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or other professional designation preferred.
- Progressive managerial experience in a medium to large size organization overseeing all compensation programs such salary administration, wage and salary management, job evaluation, annual and long term cash incentives, sales compensation, area differentials, cash incentives, equity and supplemental pay programs.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations related to the compensation arena to ensure compliance with all legal requirements of the various programs.
- Experience and knowledge of compensation practices in an International environment (at least 3 years with International compensation experience)
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with a variety of HRIS systems for the administration of compensation programs, PeopleSoft preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of a variety of Microsoft software packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality whilst interacting with managers and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage a staff in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing and managing employees as they work.
- Ability to utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counseling to improve performance or terminate employment.
- Proficient in federal and state regulations changes affecting compensation, including but not limited to IRC 162(m), FAS123R, 409(A), IRC 422, FLSA, ADA, Equal Pay Act, etc.
