Position Summary:

This role is defined to support the Marketing Analytics team in developing and automating reports for the company's use as well as the development of models to help the company in the achievement of the objectives set out in the analysis definition. This includes a deep understanding of statistical methods to understand and interpret consumer/market/model behaviors as well as the technical tools needed to accomplish these tasks. In addition this person should be able to articulate complex concepts derived from the insights obtained in the analysis into actionable steps the company can take to achieve the outlined goals of the analysis in question.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, automate and interpret high-impact, actionable business reporting to drive Marketing effectiveness.
  • Perform analysis of large Siebel Customer Database (35 million Customers) and related data from different sources such as AS/400, SQL Server and Unix/Oracle using BRIO, SAS (Unix) and SQL to make recommendations related to future campaigns. Information analyses include, but are not limited to, data extractions based on business rules and formats, data analysis, graphing and modeling.
  • Lead statistical analysis to develop marketing models in SAS on a Unix platform.
  • Research and compile data such as suitable business requirements to write technical requirements to create a business friendly pseudocode.
  • Creates the modeling code and add to production in a Unix environment.
  • Define, build and assess predictive models by working with Celebrity Marketing Analytics team and/or vendors.
  • Provide recommendations, results, and guidance to interdisciplinary leadership teams based on statistical analysis of customer information; communicating a clear understanding of the insights that are actionable.
  • Support database marketing manager and project lead in supporting ongoing CRM systems integration and deployment.
  • Maintain Report schedule within group.
  • Work closely with the marketing users to perform iterative analysis and present the results of analysis to the Marketing Partners in business-oriented language and form.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in a quantitative field (i.e. Statistics/Economics/ Engineering).
  • Four years programming in SAS (Enterprise Guide and/or Enterprise Miner) & SQL
  • Minimum of Two years experience in business modeling
  • A thorough understanding of statistical foundation behind models is a necessary requirement.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong Microsoft Access, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools such as Hyperion in relational database environments
  • Experience with analytical manipulation and interpretation of large databases required.
  • Three years experience in building statistical and/or business models.
  • Experience in synthesizing insights into presentations to leaders as well as the ability to confidently communicate with Sr. leadership about the interpretation of the analyses.
  • MBA and knowledge/experience with the travel/hospitality industry a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
  • Analyst must work accurately and effectively to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks related to own responsibilities to meet goals of the team.
  • Candidate must be flexible and organized.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated Project Management ability.
