Manager, Entertainment, Activity & Family Strategy Development

Position Summary:

Manages the research and development of all Entertainment, Activities, Television content and Family Strategy programming. Works strategically with the Director of Entertainment and Cruise Programs, Hotel Operations and Marketing to create a customized onboard activities, entertainment and family experience that will differentiate the brand in the industry, improve guest satisfaction, increase onboard revenue and drive interests and leads, partners and producing partners to our brand. Establish new and suitable alliances and industry first partnerships to enhance this goal.

Responsibilities:

• Must have their finger on the pulse of contemporary, current, national and international multi-generational entertainment, activities and television content programming.
• Together with the Director of Entertainment and Cruise Programs and in conjunction with the Marketing and Hotel Operations team, analyze research, trends and guest feedback to identify, conceptualize, develop, produce and strategically execute vacation experiences, entertainment and programming.
• Create unique, customized and exclusive entertainment, daily programming, events and venues to maximize the company's market share position.
• Manages the television and ITV content and programming, including but not limited to sporting events, produced programming, onboard creative promotional process and identifying new partnerships and programming.
• Manages Specialist, Broadcast and Technical and shipboard Broadcast and ITV team.
• Identifies potential producing partners and concepts in all aspects of entertainment, activities and youth program.
• Manages the producing partner and concept process from promotion to pitch proposals, communication, identification of opportunities and concepts, support and input for the decision making process in conjunction with the Manager, Production and Technical and Director of Entertainment and Cruise Programs as well as ongoing management of the partnerships and alliances.
• Works with the Manager of Entertainment and Cruise Programs and Lead, Cruise Programs to develop youth facilities, kids, teens and family programming.
• Performs other duties as required.

Financial Responsibilities:

Manage the new producer and concept budget as well as DEAR and CAR process in conjunction with the Manager, Production and Technical.

• Drives onboard revenue generation in conjunction with the onboard and shore side revenue team in areas including but not limited to, bars, shops, casino, Bingo, Spa, photography, Specialty restaurants, photo, and art through the development of broadcast and ITV content programming and event and entertainment programming.
• Producer for the development of all broadcast programming created to educate the guests on revenue opportunities, gratuities and all new and innovative revenue generating concepts.
• Research, prepare and present operational efficiencies and cost containment measures to senior management for consideration and implementation.

Qualifications:

• College degree required in recreation, entertainment
• Minimum 5-7 years related experience within the cruise or entertainment industry
• Minimum of 5 years management experience required.
• Prior experience as a successful Cruise Director a plus.
• Must possess a high level of forward thinking and artistic creativity to assist in the development and implementation of all new entertainment, activity,
• Television and ITV programming and family initiatives.
• Maybe required to travel approximately 40% of the work related time on ships or within the related entertainment and recreation fields in order to identify current and innovative entertainment, activity and television programming. This individual will work a minimum of 60% of the work time in the Miami office.

Additional Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in creating state of the art, industry leading entertainment and activity, television content and family strategy programming.
• Must have a proven track record in identifying and implementing successful, innovative entertainment and/or activity programming within the travel or cruise industry.
• Must possess strong communication and inter-personal skills, responsive public relations and successful public speaking skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage significant partnerships and relationships.
• Experience in managing and prioritizing multi-million dollar budgets
• Critical fast paced decision making and trouble shooting skills required to maintain loyal internal and external customer relations as well as partnerships and alliances.
• Superior decision making skills required, including the ability to think critically and use independent judgment.
• Ability to collaborate with all areas of the business including but not limited to;
• Hotel and Marine Operations, Sales, Marketing, Legal, PR and New build.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
