Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for the overall production value of the ship’s entertainment venues and events. This includes managing the cast and guest entertainers, overseeing maintenance and inventory in entertainment venues, maintaining the quality of the produced shows and events, executing shows and events and creating an environment that facilitates the needs for our performers and Cruise Director.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintains the integrity of the production shows and events produced by Celebrity Cruises in conjunction with our outside Production Companies
  • Responsible for the effective management of the Production Cast, Stage Staff, Entertainment Operators, Head Entertainment Operator, and Bandmaster (while involved in production shows and event elements)
  • Responsible for correct cueing of all shows
  • Organizes and executes rehearsal and venue schedules for the entertainment staff
  • Ensures direct reports have regularly scheduled maintenance and proper care of all entertainment equipment onboard. Including: production show elements, lighting and sound equipment, stage and rigging elements, soft goods, costumes, and entertainment venue appearance
  • Oversees all use of the aerial systems ensuring that only produced material is utilized
  • Consistently evaluates the team against the brand’s Modern Luxury concept and Company’s standards
  • Exhibits professional leadership presence, positive energy and passion in all situations

Qualifications

Hiring Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in entertainment or theatrical management (stage, technical or production) from an accredited university or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in entertainment or theatrical management
  • Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse team environment to meet overall established timeframes. Ability to communicate tactfully with department heads, coworkers and other shipboard employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions
  • Working knowledge of computers, Internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Excel, Word, or related programs
  • All shipboard employees must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers
  • All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency life-saving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
