• Role:  Shoreside Cruise Senior HR Manager Role
• Salary: Circa £35,000+ taxed at UK rates
• Location: South of the UK

• Reporting to: Director of HR
• Company: A fabulous service driven Cruise Line company with ships in her fleet sailing the world
• Website: On application
• Reports: Circa 3-4

• Duration: This is a permanent role working office hours 5 days a week with some weekends as the business demand

The Role Overview

• Familiar with marine Human Resources systems and has worked shipboard onboard a cruise liner or marine vessel in an HR Manager capacity
• Ideally with a strong auditing background. Ideally CIPD qualified.
• Leading, motivating and training staff.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships, office-based and on board.
• Recruiting European Senior Deck, Engine and Hotel officers for our 4 cruise ships, this will involve identifying needs through to making offers of employment;
• Ensure the Company meets compliance requirements by managing STCW, MLC 2006
• Create rotation plans for officers and administer their contractual agreements and benefits
• Responsible for accurate records
• Responsible for monitoring the performance review process for the Deck and Engine team
• Communicates effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Able to negotiate on an international basis.
• Patient and steady under pressure.

General Responsibilities

• Day to day management and supervision of the Marine Human Resources team.
• To liaise with the Hotel Operations Department in respect of HR issues.
• Liaise frequently with vessels to ensure smooth operation.
• To be part of the Company Emergency Response Plan.
• Visiting vessels, as a representative of the Human Resources department.
• Assist in in preparing yearly manning, travel and training budgets as required
• Assist with interviewing of candidates, as required.
• To be familiar with the Company's Safety and Quality Management System.
• Responsible for the recruitment process of all Senior European Deck, Engine and Hotel Officers.
• Identify requirements through close collaboration with the Technical Department and Hotel Operations Director, source appropriate candidates through website / publications / media / agency use; undertake reference checks and screening and interview arrangements.

YOU the Exciting Candidate

You will have recently worked on-board a cruise liner or ocean going vessel as an HR Manager or HR Director. You will be very au-fait with ship-life and the joys and pains which come with it. Happy to relocate to the south of the UK, you will be able to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship or visa. Really you will most probably be based in the UK already.

Savvy in ER investigations, HR protocol and relationship building, your personality will be strong to be able to support the HR function and lead a great team. Your networking skills will be fabulous and you will be happy to work at all levels of the business function. Able to travel some weekends to the ships to see the operation, you will be the conduit and connection from the ships to the shore.
