BAR UTILITY
Purpose of Position
You ensure a friendly and professional service following the S.T.A.R. Service Experience standards while maintaining highest cleaning and hygiene standard in all assigned areas. In addition you ensure glassware, equipment and utensils are in an exceptionally clean, orderly and stocked condition. The position supports the operation of the Bar/s assigned in accordance with Viking Ocean Cruises Standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Professional welcoming and sales oriented F&B Service following the S.T.A.R. Service Experience Standards.
- Ensuring absolute cleanliness and order in accordance with Viking VSP rules as well as department SOP’s and supervisors directions.
- Follow service procedures according to SOP’s and Department Service Standards as well as all applicable Sanitation and Safety standards at all times.
- Set-up working areas, mainly Bars and Pantries, in accordance with standards and procedures in advance of first guest arrival and during the day until closing.
- Supplies must be refurbished and replaced continuously throughout the day.
- Segregate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers. Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Collect used glassware, using correct racks and wash them in the dishwasher. Operate dishwasher according to instructions. Inspect glasses for damage and removes them from circulation if damaged. Return clean glasses to their assigned.
- Keep ice bins stocked at all times. Retrieve ice from central location and restocks as needed using assigned tools.
- Collect and transport a variety of supplies between stores and work areas. Place items in the appropriate location.
- Participate with the bar staff in all activities required in opening and/or closing the bar.
- On boarding days, assist in loading of shipments to the vessel to storage areas and then to assigned bar after issuing.
- Attend meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.
- Responsible to ensure that all aspects of Responsible Service of Alcohol policies and procedures are both met and adhered to by passengers & fellow crew, within his/her designated area of responsibility.
- Perform related duties as required. This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position. Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.

Your Profile
- At least 2 years in similar position in 3* or 4* operation.
- Very Good English skills, other languages are an asset
- International experience / shipboard experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently, service and sales oriented and guest focused, positive personality, ambitious and with professional appearance.
- Flexible and stress resistant, team player, shows commitment
- Preferred age 18 – 30.
