We are looking for a well experienced Onboard Training Specialist (m/f) for a great 5* American Cruise Line with international passengers and great itineraries throughout the world. The Onboard Training Specialist oversees the ship training center, and conducts general training courses including, but not limited to, Hospitality, Company Orientation, Ship Familiarization, Management Training, and Customer Service Training.

You will be responsible for oversight of onboard training budget and supplies, including the Learning Center and all individual computer-based classes – also responsible for all related record keeping. Coordinate and assist with company recognition programs, including Vacation Hero. In order to consistently exceed guest expectations and provide the highest levels of product and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

You must have extremely good knowledge as Trainer, especially in Management Training and must have at least three years ship experience at management level in HR and/or T&D - ideally you also have a trainer degree from an int. recognized institution. You will be responsible for data recording, constantly maintaining a current data base on all training programs, as well as issuing of all certificates for relevant training rounds within the fleet.

You will be responsible for creating course material and relevant documents such as power point programs, handouts, and manuals and will be evaluating the effectiveness of the training course and make suggestions for improvement.

You should have excellent communication skills, combined with exceptional written and oral communication skill in an international environment and with various of Nationalities as Crew Members. You should be well organized, have a positive, open minded personality and be stress-resistant at all times.

We are looking for a “true” team player and not just plain Management Crew!

Also the position requires the ability to motivate, lead and support an international team on board, while leading by example.

Fluent English is required, any additional language would be a big plus - also required are excellent computer skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and MAPS.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.
