Senior AccountantJob DescriptionPerformance ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you are responsible for:

To assist the Financial Officer in providing a professional accountable financial service onboard the vessel and to be fully accountable for accuracy of Guests and Crew Accounts, Payroll and Crew Welfare finances, as well as manage the clearance and immigration processes.

Technical Duties

• To ensure implementation of and full adherence to Silversea Cruises financial procedures by:
  • Training and monitoring the Night Auditor for a complete understanding of the role and the correct accounting procedures at all times,
  • Training and monitoring of all departments responsible for Fidelio postings and Refunds to ensure full compliance and understanding of policies,
  • Ensuring that a back up documentation procedure for all charges is in place and followed,
  • Conducting random audits,
  • Ensuring Weekly, Monthly and Annual accounting practices are carried out in accordance with company guidelines,
  • Managing cash advance, direct deposit and home allotments in accordance with Silversea's policy and procedure,
  • Conducting Casino Count as required ensuring compliance with Silversea's policy and procedure,o Conducting hotel inventory and bar inventory spot checks as requested and required by the Financial Officer
• To ensure zero errors in all accounting and financial procedures by:
  • Monitoring Guest Charge entries when applicable in Fidelio and addresses issues and concerns within twenty-four hours of a posting through to resolution,
  • Supporting Reception team on guest related charges when required,
  • Preparing and administering Payroll for the Financial Officer ensuring maximum accuracy,
  • Conducting random audits to ensure all cash floats balance,
  • Generating financial reports in conjunction with and under the direction of the Financial Officer,
  • Preparing inventory cycle count schedules for hotel inventories as directed by the Financial Officer and Controllero Preparing daily food cost reports for and with the F&B Department,
  • Preparing revenue reports as directed by the Financial Officer,
  • Preparing the inventory cruise end financial reports as outlined in Silversea Cruises guidelines,
  • Preparing budget vs. actual comparison reports.
• To assist with crew satisfaction and welfare by:
  • Performing Treasurer duties at the Crew Welfare Committee, responsible for keeping the funds safe, preparing and distributing accordingly all relevant accounts paperwork and reports to ensure transparency in the procedures,
  • Attending all crew welfare meetings, and all activities in which money transactions are involved (i.e. Bingo),
  • Keeping HR Manager up to date in regards to crew welfare finances.
