Vessel type: Ocean-going cruise ship
Purpose of Position
To manage efficiently all financial, revenue and guest and crew administration service issues aboard the ship and to carry them out in a manner consistent with Viking Ocean Cruises’ high standard of passenger service.
Your Responsibilities
- Control of ship financial operation, reporting and statistics and internal auditing as required.
- Assist with the onboard monthly department financial statement management.
- Continuous communication and planning based on annual budget allocation and cost control management.
- Financial reporting including onboard revenue from outlets and concessions.
- Concessionaire Manager supervision and liaison for financial aspects only.
- Maintains ship’s funds and cash availability.
- Control and auditing of all cash floats once per week.
- Requesting currency exchange facilities to be available on board the vessel.
- Handling of passenger claims and complaints
- Supervision of Guest Service / Front Desk operation.
- Control of ship’s documentation in/out ports.
- Supervision of Crew Purser, 1st Purser, Night Auditor ,
- Overview of Immigration and Custom clearance.
- Liaising with agents and HODs for all Port Operation matters.
- Ensures that the Purser’s Office desk is properly staffed and operating according to the company’s policies
- Responsible for the proper submission of Cruise end financial reports.
- Trains Purser’s office staff to ensure they have up-to-date information concerning all cruise activities and company policies.
- Maintains a good relationship with all local officials at ports of call to ensure utmost Cooperation. With Crew Purser meets all officials whilst onboard.
- Organize passenger embarkation and disembarkation in conjunction with all relative parties to ensure proper execution.
- Safe keeping of all Guest and Crew passports and to be aware of all documentary requirements for each and every port of call visited.
- To be familiar with the legal aspects of Crew employment, Health and Safety at work, The company’s SMS and Environmental Policies and all other company directives Governing the administration of Crew and Port Operations.

Your Profile
- A minimum of three years experience in a financial department on board a passenger vessel.
- Financial background, skills in accounting and administration
- Exposure to Budgeting techniques and financial analysis.
- Computer knowledge
- Excellent English skills, other languages are an asset
- Ability to work independently, service oriented and guest focused, positive personality and professional appearance.
- Flexible and stress resistant, team player, shows commitment
