The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high-reaching, highly capable Assistant Superintendent of Facilities to work across both brands. You will be responsible for all Hotel maintenance of vessels for which they have delegated responsibility under the direction of the Senior Superintendent Facilities and with the key function of supporting maintenance and project functions for all guest areas, public areas and crew areas including back of house general maintenance not limited to, but including, laundries and galleys for facility maintenance regarding electrical, plumbing, upholstery, horticulture, carpentry and refurbishment for these areas. Work closely with the integrated team to ensure all annual planned/unplanned is suitable documented in a timely manner in line with CUK asset management strategy.

Your duties will include;

  • To ensure each vessel has the required level of support to enable the vessel to deliver their areas of accountability to plan
  • Submitting to their manager periodical updates on ship’s condition and performance with a major focus on unplanned maintenance
  • Act as a point of contact as required for crisis management support including out of hours call out
  • Approve and manage low value ships requisitions and purchase orders for spares and service visits for unplanned activities ensuring the drivers behind these are fully understood by the business
  • Visiting the fleet on a regular and planned basis to review/monitor the condition of the vessel.
  • Assist with of on-board Hotel planned maintenance, in particular timely reaction to unplanned events.
  • Working with the supply chain, on a daily basis, to ensure that the required spare parts and/or services are provided in a timely manner, at a cost effective price and to the company’s agreed purchasing and logistics procedures.
  • To adhere to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, Audit Procedures and any control related responsibility for financial data entered, stored, or reported via business systems within employees’ control (list not exhaustive).
  • Continuous review for improvement and Implementation of asset management plans within areas of responsibility.
  • Assist in creating dry dock and repair specifications with onboard team.

About You

With a background in Maritime, you will have an understanding of the structure and implications of Flag State, USCG, and IMO rules and regulations. You will also have a basic understanding of good maintenance practice and the application of such on cruise vessels operating a strict worldwide itinerary.

You'll be based at our Southampton HQ, with up to 2 weeks planned travel per month.
