Costa Crociere is seeking a talented and energetic Project Manager to join the Costa Crociere Foundation (CCF) team in implementing the new nation-wide citizen science project “Guardiani della Costa”.

The CCF is a fast growing non-profit organization which aims at improving the conditions of the marine environment and the local communities in Italy and abroad. In doing so, the Foundation shares the ethical and economic values of Costa Crociere. The CCF currently supports and runs 17 high impact environmental and social projects. Among them, “Guardiani della Costa” will have a pivotal role in enhancing the standing, the reputation and the reach of the Foundation, and will ultimately become one of its flagship initiatives.

The new Project Manager, reporting directly to the Program Manager, will dedicate most of the time in enabling the full success of the initiative, from its current embryonic stage, through the co-design of the plan of activities, to its full deployment in all the 15 Italian coastal regions. In addition to that, the Project Manager, will support the CCF team in monitoring and streamlining the other ongoing projects and in contributing to the design of the new ones.

In order to succeed, the new resource should possess strong project management skill (with a robust track record of successes) and effective, above the average, communication skills that will be vital to deal with a large number of different stakeholders: high schools, scientific experts, local and national institutions, business partners, the public. Experience in managing large citizen science initiatives, ideally in the field of marine conservation, will be an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fine tune the design, plan the daily activities, and successfully deliver the project “Guardiani della Costa”.
  • Effectively make contact with, recruit and engage in the project a large number of stakeholders: schools, scientific experts, local and national institutions, business partners, the public.
  • Proactively understand the stakeholders needs and the project constraints and effectively act to guarantee the full success of the initiative.
  • Effectively monitor and report on the status of the project(s), through quantitative and qualitative KPIs.
  • Communicate in an effective, appropriate, formally correct and empathic way, the project to both internal (Costa colleagues) and external stakeholders.
  • Be a Costa Crociere Foundation ambassador always and above all.  

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Multiyear professional experience in the management of large complex initiatives
  • Effective, above the average communication skills and experience in building enduring relations and trust with large diverse stakeholder’s groups
  • Proven track record in delivering successful multi-stakeholders initiatives with limited supervision
  • Digitally evolved
  • High motivation and availability to travel (25-30% of the time)
  • Passion for quality and results
  • Italian mother tongue with fluent English
  • Experience in managing large citizen science initiatives, ideally in the field of marine conservation, will be an advantage
  • Inclination to anticipate project issues and threats, proactively intervening to define solutions

Good knowledge of the following languages is required: English, Italian
