Are you a senior HR generalist searching for a career at sea?
Here at Australia’s most loved cruise line, we are now searching for an experienced People & Performance Manager to join us on board in the coming months.
This role is all about effectively promoting and administering ship board HR policies and programs as well as working closely with all departments to create an optimal work environment for our crew.
This role will entail but is not limited to:
- Ensuring the concerns and needs of employees are being voiced to ship board and shore side management at all times
- Effectively implementing all new HR policies and company initiatives
- Successfully managing the crew welfare function
- Promptly providing consultation and coaching to shipboard management
- Overseeing the administration of the entire shipboard performance appraisal process
- Always providing exceptional internal and external customer service
- Ensuring compliance with Fleet Regulations, Public Health and departmental policies and procedures
- Demonstrating commitment to the company’s values, beliefs, goals and initiatives
The ideal candidate for this role will:
- Have experience in a similar HR generalist role, preferably ship or hotel based
- Have the ability to establish strong yet professional relationships in a diverse cultural environment
- Be adaptable and flexible in a fast paced and reactive environment
- Lead by example, encourage and embrace our company’s Proud values
- Display outstanding communication skills and a passion for people and performance

Contracts are for four months duration with two months leave in between assignments. The salary is competitive and flights, medical cover and uniforms are provided.
Please note employees of P&O Cruises Australia are required to be at least 21 years old, possess a current unrestricted passport (valid for at least a year) and international applicants eligible to apply for an Australian Maritime Crew Visa (MCV) and Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). All crew members are required to successfully clear an ENG1 Medical before commencing onboard.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
