Marine Superintendent- Dry Cargo

Due to internal promotion our client are actively seeking a Marine Superintendent to join their team. In this role you will be working closely with the Marine Manager to ensure the safe operation of assigned vessels.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Effective implementation and maintenance of the Company's Safety Management System.
• Conduct both shipboard and shore internal audits of the Safety Management System.
• Schedule and direct Safety Management System shipboard audits and investigate non-conformances with vessel Masters and superintendents.
• Identify training requirements with respect to shore based personnel involved with the Safety Management System.
• Maintenance and upgrading Safety Management System to cover new company and International regulations.
• Ensuring that all marine safety and environmental policies are carried out in accordance with International regulations and Company procedures.
• Investigating accident reports
• Investigating and reporting on vessel incidents.
• Maintain the company Cadet training ashore and at sea, liaising with the training provider and compiling tonnage tax documentation for presentation to Department of Transport

To be considered you will have experience as:

• 2nd Officer/Chief Mate COC
• Internal Auditor's certificates for ISM & ISPS
• Previous superintendency experience is preferred
• Experience as DPA / CSO preferred
