Location: At Sea
Salary: €3952
Hours: 8 weeks on and 8 weeks off

3R Global are currently looking for a highly motivated, experienced and passionate 1st Refrigeration Engineer. It is a great opportunity to join one of the most well-renowned companies in the cruise industry.

What you will be doing:

  • As 1st Refrigeration Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining the equipment records, planned maintenance schedules, repair and work-orders for equipment in the HVAC/Refrigeration area
  • You will maintain history and repair and maintenance records for the equipment you are responsible for.
  • As 1st Refrigeration Engineer you will ensure that all machinery under their control is operated safely, efficiently and economically, in an environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with CCI regulations and policies.
  • You will train, coach, counsel, support, supervise and delegate the Refrigeration Engineer Jr. and the
  • Refrigeration Engineer Assistant. 
  • As 1st Refrigeration Engineer you will be responsible for AC compressors, including pipes, pumps, and shut off valves in pre-heat water systems.
  • You will be responsible for maintenance and operation of Engine Room ventilation including fire dampers.
  • As 1st Refrigeration Engineer you will be responsible for the insulation and seals for doors to provision rooms and walk in coolers including latches, hinges and gaskets.
  • You will provide a handover report to the relieving First Refrigeration Engineer with a copy to the Chief Engineer whenever leaving the ship for vacation (or any other reason).
  • As 1st Refrigeration Engineer you will report to the Chief Engineer upon joining the ship and consulting with the First Refrigeration Engineer being relieved regarding the machinery and equipment for which the First Refrigeration Engineer is responsible.
  • You will train, coach, counsel, support, supervise and delegate the Refrigeration Engineer Jr. and the Refrigeration Engineer Assistant.

What you’ll need:

  • Must have previous experience as a First Refrigeration Engineer on another cruise line or must provide proof of equivalent position shore side that encompasses similar responsibilities.
  • Must hold Higher education allowing acceptance into, and completion of, the one-year specialized Refrigeration Education at an Engineering Academy (full time). Must hold valid Refrigerant Transition & Recovery Certification (Accredited by Unit or - 3 day
  • Course or equivalent).
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English (needs to score at least 80% in the on-board English proficiency test).
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure.

Benefits:

  • After 2 years with the Company you will start to receive Seniority Bonus
  • Yearly Bonus (depending on results and performance) equals maximum one-month’s salary plus Seniority Merit.
  • Voluntary Pension Plan in effect after 12 months, consisting of a 7% contribution from the employer and minimum 2% from the employee.
  • Medical insurance. Sick pay and doctor/hospital expenses coverage for up to 12 months.
  • First three months 14 days mutual notice time, thereafter two months mutual notice time.
  • Family visits on board allowed after 2 months.

Work Experience Requirements
