3R Global are currently looking for highly motivated, experienced and passionate Second Engineer's. It is a great opportunity to join one of the most well-renowned companies in the cruise industry.

What you will be doing:

  • As Second Engineer you will be responsible for training your watch team to follow safe and environmentally responsible working practices and to maintain a high watch keeping standard
  • You will to supervise Third Engineers A, B and C.
  • As Second Engineer you will ensure that all machinery is operated safely, efficiently and economically in accordance with CCI regulations and policies.
  • You will provide a handover report to the relieving Second Engineer with a copy to First Engineer A and the Assistant Chief Engineer whenever leaving the ship for vacation (or any other reason).
  • As Second Engineer you will report to the First Engineer A or Assistant Chief Engineer upon joining the ship and will consult with the Second Engineer being relieved regarding the machinery and equipment for which the Second Engineer is responsible.
  • You will be responsible for the overtime sheets of the engine crew if on duty between the hours of 08- 12.
  • As Second Engineer you will be responsible for the cleaning of the control room if on duty between the hours of 00-04.
  • You will maintain all drinking water fountains and dosing logs according to USPH.
  • As Second Engineer you will maintain a log book with daily readings of the Salt Separation Service.
  • You will report daily work to the First Engineer A and oversee the daily duties and the evaluation of Third Engineers.
  • As Second Engineer you will train, coach, counsel, support and delegate the Third Engineers. What you'll need:
  • Second Engineer License
  • Basic safety training
  • Advanced Fire Fighting
  • Crowd & Crisis Management
  • Engine Resource Management
  • High Voltage Certificate (Beneficial)
  • AMOS training certificate (Beneficial)
  • C1/D Visa (Beneficial)
  • Minimum 1 year previous experience (2 sailing periods) as an Engine Assistant and 1 year (2 sailing periods) as Engine Trainee (if position exists) or alternatively, 2 years (4 sailing periods) as Engine Assistant if no time as Engine Trainee.
  • Must hold a valid Second Engineer License, Bahamian License and preferably have completed a Chief Engineer's Education in order to obtain the license once experience is gained.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English (needs to score at least 80% in the onboard English proficiency test). Benefits:

  • Yearly Bonus (depending on results and performance) equals maximum one-month's salary plus Seniority Merit.
  • Voluntary Pension Plan in effect after 12 months, consisting of a 7% contribution from the employer and minimum 2% from the employee.
  • Medical insurance. Sick pay and doctor/hospital expenses coverage for up to 12 months.
  • Family visits on board allowed after 2 months.
