Employed by Crew People International Ltd (CPIL) working on board Marella Cruises the on board Hotel General Manager is responsible for driving the Hotel Operations, Destination Services & Future Sales, Entertainment and Concessionaires teams to deliver an enhanced customer experience in accordance with the company’s brand and service standards, maximising on board revenue opportunities and controlling the associated cost base.

What you will be doing

  • Establish and promote good internal relationships within your departments, ship and head office ensuring that we treat our internal customers with care and consideration 
  • Meet financial targets including profit and expenditure 
  • As a manager you will have access to confidential information regarding and belonging to the company. You will manage your access to this information in a professional and confidential manner 
  • Be knowledgeable of the rotas in line with business needs 
  • You are responsible for the performance of your team and as such you will; Ensure that you are aware of and adhere to the company’s rules and procedures 
  • Undertake the continuous process of training and developing team members. This includes in your role the completion of; performance appraisals, succession planning and communication meetings. 
  • Carry out management performance and development reviews with direct reports. 
  • Issue your team members with personal KPI’s (key performance indicators) to include challenging yet achievable targets in line with company KPI’s. 
  • Take responsibility alongside the shore based team for the recruitment of your team along with the administration required to pay them accurately and on time, whilst maintaining accurate records. You should ensure you are fully trained in the necessary applications to enable you to complete these tasks and adhere to the timelines and rules governing this area.

  • Able to manage diverse relationships and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively 
  • Able to lead in the execution of projects and can work independently, able to execute assignments from end-to-end 
  • Ensures smooth running of day-to-day operations, resolves operational issues 
  • A hospitality-related degree or diploma 
  • Experience in all ship hotel departments

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
