1st Engineer / Cruise

V.Ships are looking for a 1st Engineer who has the capacity to act up to Ship Service Engineer on board Saga Pearl II. Boarding will be preferably from 5th June for a handover.

Licence / Qualification requirements:

• Required - Chief Engineer Unlimited
• Line Manager: Staff Chief Engineer
• Direct Reports: Mechanics

Responsibilities as per V.Ships S&QMS:

Technical Department Responsibility

• Generators Responsible to the Staff Engineer for the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of the generators and associated machinery and equipment.
• To assist the following with their responsibilities as per V.Ships S&QMS; Assist Staff Chief Engineer with Technical Department
• Main Propulsion Machinery Responsible to the Staff Engineer for the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of the main propulsion machinery and associated machinery and equipment.

Additional Duties

• Emergency Generators.
• Hydraulic valve systems.
• Machinery space pumps.
• Stabilisers.
• Steering gear.
• Ensure that planned maintenance assigned to their discipline is conducted and reported.
• Coach and train Junior Officers.
• Prepare appraisals for ‘Direct Reports’ in accordance with V.Ships and Saga policy.
• Attend passenger social events as directed by the Head of Department.
• Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as directed by the Head of Department.
• Other tasks pertaining to departmental operations as directed by Head of Department.
