In a buoyant market Marella Cruises is performing well and going through an exciting time of fleet modernisation whilst also moving to owner managed model. Marella Cruises operates a fleet of 6 ships for a UK customer base and operates out of homeports across Europe, Caribbean with a planned Asia itinerary in W18/19. As Finance Manager for Marella Cruises you will business partner the Operational team to ensure a robust costbase exists to enable effective cost control and commercial decision making. You will work closely with the operational team to manage all cost base lines below variable contribution and will own the financial relationship with these suppliers. As manager of a team you will support and challenge the business to maximise profitability through efficient use of funds.This key Cruise Finance role will manage the operational cost base (c.£250m) with the Cruise operational teams. It will aim to drive cost control, reduce unit costs and ensure robust building blocks of the cost base with insightful analysis. With the increasing requirement from an owner managed model the role needs to quickly shape efficient processes and potential system developments to ensure efficient control and reporting are in place.
What you will be doing
This finance business partner role, within the Cruise Finance team, manages 3 people (2 direct, 1 indirect) to provide full financial support to the Cruise Operations team.The role will build the cost base with the Operations Team covering all aspects of pricing, budgets and forecasts for all ‘live’ seasons. The key items included in the cost base are fuel, port, food and beverage, entertainment, engineering and charter costs. You will need to provide challenge to operations department, anticipating risks and opportunities, whilst proactively managing with the business owners to maximise profitability and performance. It will feed into the Finance Manager – Pricing and Planning all cost base implications relating to future seasons taking account of itinerary/fleet plans. Seasonal cost projections must be robust, accurate and well-articulated.You will report accurate historic results for the cost base providing insightful analysis and full transparency of performance to senior stakeholders. The role will manage analysis of historic and current cruise ship performance to assist in understanding key financial drivers through the preparation and evaluation of end of season profitability. You will work with your Accounting and Control colleagues to insure justification of all relevant balance sheets and ensure timely highlighting of any developing risk or opportunity. Cashflow forecasting for all live seasons will also be required to ensure appropriate foreign exchange hedging is in place.The role will own the financial relationship with suppliers such as CCS/Louis/Apollo/Intercruises. It will manage the financial element of key cruise supplier relationships whilst playing an active part in ensuring value for money is achieved. The role will develop and support on cruise business cases such as any contract renewals, fleet renewals and investment.The role will need to ensure high focus on ensuring efficient financial processes are in place, but also be expected to help drive and shape future system developments.

Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.
Language Requirements
